“Hampton created TurnSignl, an on-demand lawyer app for people to use during traffic stops. Hampton was also on the legal team for Marvin Haynes, who was exoneratedin 2023 for a 2004 murder in North Minneapolis.”

‍Hampton spoke with Downtown Voices editor Brianna Kelly on Feb. 6 about why he’s running for mayor, how he plans to tackle Minneapolis’ most pressing issues, and what he would do to bring the City Council together.

“I see a city once again in need of leadership. Minneapolis is divided. Not by a broken bridge but by a broken system. People feel disconnected from those in power. They’re tired of being left out of decisions that affect their lives. And they’re ready for a leader who brings people together instead of pushing them further apart.”
